Please follow the below guidelines for each post

Step 1 - The Title:

To keep the board scannable, every post title must include a Prefix and a Suffix.

  1. Prefix
  • [LFG] --> Looking For Group: Use this if you are an individual looking for a project or team to join.
  • [HMOP] --> Help Me Out Please: Use this if you have a specific project or idea, and are looking for people who are interested in joining in to help
  1. Suffix
  • Indicate the license of your project (e.g., CC0, CC-BY-SA, GPL 3.0, MIT).
  • Note: While we welcome all creators, projects that embrace the "Libre" sphere (Open Source and Creative Commons) are highly encouraged.

Example Title:

[HMOP] Browser Based Abstract Strategy Board Game (CC-BY, GPL 3)

Step 2 - The Body:

The more detail you provide, the more likely you are to find the right partner. Please include the following in your post:

  • The Vision: What is the project? What makes it unique?
  • Current Progress: Is this just an idea? A half-finished prototype? Share links to your Git repo, portfolio, or screenshots if applicable.
  • The "Ask": What exactly are you looking for from your team mates?
  • Expectations & Time: Are you looking for a weekend hobbyist or a long-term collaborator? Be honest about your own time commitment, as well as your expectations of others.
  • Communication: How should people reach out, and where can people expect the majority of collaboration to take place? (Forum DMs/Chats, Signal, Matrix, Discord, etc.).

Why the formatting?

By using [LFG] and [HMOP], we make it easy for members to search for exactly how they want to help. By listing your License in the title, you let potential collaborators know immediately if the project aligns with their values regarding open-source and digital freedom.

⚠️ Workshop Safety & Etiquette

  • Respect the License: If you join a Libre project, respect the open nature of the work.
  • Be Patient: We are all tinkering on our own time.
  • Stay Safe: Avoid sharing sensitive personal information (like your home address or phone number) in public threads.
